Strategy refresh and corporate planning
Murrumbidgee Irrigation | Griffith, NSW
Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) is one of Australia's largest private irrigation infrastructure operators, managing over a billion dollars in physical assets and supplying water to more than 2,300 shareholders across the Murrumbidgee region. For years, MI had relied on a self-facilitated strategy process which produced an internal, operational focus at a time when the external environment (water policy, climate variability, new technologies, diversification pressures) demanded something more forward-looking.
Since 2025, Lecroma has partnered with VUCA to support MI through a structured strategy refresh, combining broad consultation with targeted engagement. The process included stakeholder surveys, more than 50 targeted interviews across board members, executives, shareholders, peak bodies and industry partners, workshops with MI's Leadership Forum, and Board and Executive sessions to test insights and shape direction.
The work consolidated evidence from customers, staff, industry, government and regional stakeholders into an Insights Brief and Strategic Directions Paper, providing the foundation for MI's Corporate Plan, annual budgets and divisional plans. Lecroma is now developing the Corporate Plan which translates the strategic framework into priorities, KPIs, initiatives and resourcing for 2026-27 with a three-year horizon.
