Approvals and community confidence – Battery energy storage
Corowa BESS
Flow Power | Corowa, NSW
Flow Power is developing the Corowa BESS on Whitehead Street in Corowa, NSW, in a regional community where infrastructure development needs to be understood through its local social, economic and stakeholder context.
Across 2025-26, Lecroma delivered the Social and Economic Impact Assessment and provided strategic and operational stakeholder engagement support. Our work included baseline socio-economic analysis, review of environmental impacts and benefits, community and stakeholder engagement, and practical advice on measures to minimise adverse impacts and enhance local benefits.
Alongside the assessment, Lecroma successfully led neighbour and local business engagement and discussions with Federation Council. We helped develop the community benefit-sharing strategy and supported project communications, including consultation materials, and media engagements.
This work helped Flow Power manage approval and delivery risks, strengthen relationships with Council, neighbours and local businesses, and build a clearer pathway for community confidence and regional benefit. The project is currently under consideration by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
